James! ("the App", "we", "us") is a digital wine and menu management service operated by TwistedMinds (Gerry Uytdenhouwen). This policy explains what data the App processes and why.

Who controls your data

James! is provided to restaurants and hospitality businesses ("Establishments"). Each Establishment is the data controller for the content it manages. TwistedMinds acts as the data processor on the Establishment's behalf.

What we process

Device registration data: a device identifier and registration PIN, used to authorize a device to access an Establishment's menu.
Usage analytics: anonymous, aggregated interaction events (for example, which menu items or wines are viewed) used to help Establishments improve their offering. These events contain no personal guest data.
Menu content cache: menus, wines, dishes, prices and images are stored locally on the device to allow offline use.

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or any other personal information from restaurant guests.

Camera

The App uses the camera only to scan QR codes for quick Establishment access. No images are stored or transmitted.

How we use data

To authenticate devices and deliver the correct menu.
To synchronize menu content and keep it up to date.
To provide Establishments with anonymous usage insights.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with the Establishment that operates the device and with infrastructure providers that host the service on our behalf.

Data retention

Analytics events are retained for a limited period (currently 90 days) and then removed. Cached menu content remains on the device until the next synchronization or until the App is removed.

Your rights

Because guests are not individually identified, the App holds no personal guest profiles. If you are a restaurant operator and wish to access, correct or delete your Establishment's data, contact us at info@jamesapp.eu.

Security

Credentials are stored securely on the device. Communication with our servers is encrypted in transit.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
